“I went to one of HANDLE’s seminars to help me with the students I work with, and little did I know, it would be a life changing experience for me. Judith helped me overcome years of frustration with a few simple exercises. I no longer feel like a klutz… Even my eye doctor was amazed… He said, ‘You have depth perception now! What have you done?’”
~ D. Christensen, Teacher Assistant for Special Needs Children
“I fully support HANDLE’s path to healing through gentle enhancement; it complements Waldorf special education in a wonderful way.”
~ Ingun Schneider, RPT, Director of Remedial Education, Rudolf Steiner College, Fair Oaks, California
“I took the introductory training in Iowa in August. Since then I have been doing the exercises with my students in a challenging-behaviors classroom in Vermont. I have seen positive results overall & have generally been fascinated by the whole process… I really think HANDLE is valuable and I'd like to see it utilized in schools, nursing homes, etc.”
~ Laura Bryant, Educator

- Hannah Cartmell
“I am a Special Ed teacher, and in my classroom last year I had three brothers ages 15,13 and 9. All three have ADHD and Learning Disabilities. The oldest one had been in my class for four years. He read at a first grade level and despite any methods of instruction or interventions I used, I couldn't seem to help him progress. I did the [HANDLE activities] Face and Skull Tapping, Fist Flower, Ear Muffs and hula hoop activities with all three boys. In one week the oldest improved his reading by three grade levels. I did nothing else different. The youngest went up a little over a year in reading levels and the middle boy...with the least disability... reported an increased ability to concentrate and focus.”
~ Linda Ozier, Special Education teacher
“ The biggest impact of this class is on me professionally in my job as a teacher. I would recommend it because it can really help a teacher to understand those children who are “different” and see that there is a reason for the things they do. I liked the idea “children show us what they need” . As I teach I will keep that in mind.
~ Lori Uponen Charter School Teacher
“All in all , this class was more than I ever expected. I originally decided to take this course because I needed the credit for recertification. The information was presented in a very organized fashion. The instructor quietly drew all the loose ends together. I wish we could have gone into even more deeply into the material.
~ Sharyn Harris High school Teacher.
“This should be a required course for everyone, but especially those who have families and work with children.”
~ Ester Webb, High school Teacher
“I think all teachers should be encouraged to take this course. It has given me a whole new perspective on myself and my students. It has given me a new positive way to deal with my job and hopefully be more patient with that child that is distruptive. We have reasons why we do the things but this is the first time I have learned that we can do something about it. That you for giving me new tools so that I can be a better teacher.
~ Beth Nevus Elementary School Teacher
“This course has been very valuable. I have been a tutor for 16 years and because of this course I am able to really understand why some children have such a hard time learning…learning about these neurodevelopmental subsystems makes it easier for mew to be sympathetic towards my student’s learning difficulties.”
~ Shirley Chihuly, Tutor

~ Roy Desjarlais, LMT, CST-D, Vice President of Clinical Services, The Upledger Institute, Inc.
“The HANDLE Institute trainings are truly the cutting edge! It gave meaning to many behaviors that I see everyday but just didn’t know how to interpret. My understanding and interventions are forever changed. These trainings should be required for any mental health professional who works with ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, Asperger’s and learning problems.”
~ Mark Lanci, MSW, LICSW
“It was delightful to have complex neurophysiological concepts explained in earthy robust terms that all could understand. Your (HANDLE) concepts tie together so much knowledge that has been just "hanging" out there for years, and I thought your graphics were exciting and easy to understand. It is amazing how much your thinking has advanced our field, and what you have given us all to build on. I have been counseling for 27 years and doing biofeedback (and neurofeedback) in a multimodal approach for 6 years. My husband and I have just come to the Seattle area, and I am getting set up here practice-wise. Over the year's I have always taken a holistic approach, whether to reversing heart disease, working with performance, or ADD (loved your new term, by the way-agree whole heartedly!) It was great to see someone serving the whole person with the depth and care that you do. I have seen so many closed head trauma kids and ADD kids who improved brain functioning with biofeedback, but who needed something more. In the past, the best I could do was send them off to occupational therapists. Now I know just where they belong undefined I will send them to you.”
~ Mary Ahearn, MA, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
“Professionally as a nurse, HANDLE will help me to be a better advocate for my patients needs… for sharing information with other caregivers so there is a more comprehensive understanding of the patient rather than isolating one dysfunction. To me HANDLE is about accepting people where they are in life first and then finding solutions.”
~ Laurie Schemer Registered RN
